Terms of Service

Effective date: March 14, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Academic Workflows products. By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using any Academic Workflows product or website ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Academic Workflows provides software tools designed for educators and school administrators, including Academic Mail Organizer — a Google Apps Script application that organizes Gmail inboxes by school year.

The Service is currently in early access. Features, availability, and terms may change during this period.

3. Google account requirements

Academic Mail Organizer requires a Google account to function. By using the app, you authorize it to access your Gmail account with the permissions requested during the Google OAuth flow. You can revoke this authorization at any time through your Google Account settings.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. Academic Workflows is not responsible for any unauthorized access to your Google account by third parties.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or resell the Service
  • Use the Service to access email accounts you are not authorized to access
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure

5. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. Intellectual property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Academic Workflows and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

7. Early access disclaimer

The Service is provided during an early access period. During this time, the Service may be modified, interrupted, or discontinued without notice. Early access is provided at no charge, and no service level guarantees are made.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Academic Workflows does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ACADEMIC WORKFLOWS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

In no event shall Academic Workflows' total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
